Boston After School & Beyond is an advocate for the power of out-of-school time (OST) in youth development. We are rooted in the principles of learning what works, securing resources to test what works, and organizing and supporting the public and private stakeholders who can act on what works.
Below are our strategic initiatives and projects designed to support and promote Boston's OST field.
BOSTONavigator
Created in collaboration with the City of Boston and BOSTnet, this citywide database is the most comprehensive on-line directory of out-of-school time programming in Boston.
Partners for Student Success
Partners for Student Success is a multi-year effort designed to lower the barriers to learning among struggling students. In 15 high-need schools we are creating a connection between the lives children lead in and out of school.
Teen Initiative
The Teen Initiative supports the development and expansion of out-of-school time models that effectively engage teens most likely to drop out of school between 9th and 10th grade.
Other Projects
We are also supporting and developing a variety of other projects which benefit the OST field such as: the Boston Youth Sports Initiative, the Teen Environmental Initiative, the School-Age & Youth Development Credential, the OST Sustainability and Systems Study, and the Parents Survey.
