The Boston Foundation for Architecture invites grant proposals for public education programs in Massachusetts related to the built environment. Grants are made primarily to individual educators, community groups, education institutions, and other nonprofit organizations and individuals serving Massachusetts audiences. Through 2007, the BFA has distributed more than $800,000 to public and private-sector groups and individuals.
Applications are encouraged from teachers and school systems, especially for curriculum development efforts that might be extended to entire school systems. Grants to individuals are considered when the work proposed has the potential to affect many individuals.

Questions about the program should be addressed to Nancy Jenner at the Boston Foundation for Architecture (njenner@architects.org or 617-951-1433 x227).Grant applications must be received at the BFA office (52 Broad Street, Boston, MA 02109) by 4:00pm on August 6, 2008. Applications are reviewed in the fall and the results are mailed to all applicants by December 31, 2008. It is assumed that funds granted this year will be applied to activities occuring in 2009.
